Wow, how fantastic rock superstar Lenny Kravitz looks at almost 60! GALA knows its secret – and it doesn’t just have to do with sport.

What a sight – this body! Lenny Kravitz’s toned figure also moves one of his ex-girlfriends. “God, have mercy,” Naomi Campbell recently wrote full of admiration for a shirtless Instagram picture of the singer. How does he manage to look so outrageously good – at an age when most of his peers have long since swapped the existence of sex gods for the existence of couch potatoes?

Lenny Kravitz: He’s at the peak of his life

Lenny Kravitz is further away from the cozy sofa than ever. At almost 60 years old, he feels he has reached the peak of his abilities: “It cost me my life to get here,” he recently announced in an interview. According to the rock superstar, he is mentally, spiritually and physically fit in a way he would never have dreamed of as a young man. Lenny, who is going on tour with his new album in the summer and giving two (already sold out) concerts in Germany, trains for this six times a week. Not larifari, but disciplined “like an elite athlete.” However – and this perhaps gives him the last bit of success – in a very special gym: outside, and often in his place of comfort, the Bahamas island of Eleuthera. Lenny Kravitz lives there part of the year in a village of 500 people; a wonderful contrast to his other adopted home, Paris.

In the Bahamas he’s just “the guy next door”

Early in the morning and late in the evening you can see him running cross-country across the beach towards the jungle or you can watch him – with his dreadlocks tied up and wearing the obligatory sunglasses – with great concentration, tucking his legs under a fallen palm tree and doing sit-ups. Won’t there be a mass gathering of fans? No, assures Lenny Kravitz. “On Eleuthera everyone knows what I do. But here I’m just the guy next door whose family has always lived in the Bahamas. People are very laid back and not fascinated by your status – it’s the coolness that counts.” And who could be cooler than Lenny Kravitz?

Your own organic gardenHe farms on Eleuthera, where he grows cucumbers, mangoes, broccoli, kale, lemons and breadfruit. As if we had suspected it: He eats a purely vegan diet – which also avoids unsightly hip rolls – and eats almost exclusively “raw food” – raw, uncooked foods. But his island gives him even more than the best organic food: “The peace and being thrown back on myself help me to grow and be in harmony with myself.”

Lenny uses sand from the beach to exfoliate

Lenny even draws inspiration from his Caribbean paradise when it comes to beauty. Finely powdered sand from the nearby beach serves as a peeling and the hard body is anointed with coconut oil to relax the muscles. And Lenny Kravitz only washes his hair with almond soap that is produced in the Bahamas. The soap accompanies Lenny Kravitz everywhere: “The smell makes me immediately happy anywhere in the world.”

And when you feel good, everything becomes easier. Even a hundred miserable sit-ups in a row.
