A few days ago, Lenovo unveiled a whole succession of new Yoga devices. Today, the Chinese brand is turning its attention to gamers, with two new gaming laptops : the Legion 7 and 7i as well as the Legion Slim 7 and Slim 7i.
As its name suggests, the Slim 7 seeks to find a good compromise between performance and compactness. Lenovo also presents it as the most mobile 16-inch laptop in the world. This model is geared towards both gamers and creatives. The Legion 7 is completely designed for the most demanding gamers. It’s very simple, its technical sheet is practically an anthology of the best on the market today.
Legion 7 and 7i: the best you can imagine for laptop gaming
Let’s start with the Legion 7. The device does not exceed 19 mm thick for 2.3 kg, which makes it a relatively compact product for its 16-inch format. It has a 99.9 Wh battery, compatible with 135 Wh Type-C fast charging, and tables (like most of Lenovo’s premium laptops this year) on a Full HD webcam housed in an insert on the inside. above the screen. The Legion 7 finally has a chassis combining aluminum and magnesium, inside which are installed top-notch components.

Depending on the model chosen, we can thus go up to an Intel Core i9-12900HX or an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, coupled with a maximum of 32 GB of RAM in DDR5 at 4,800 MHz. On the GPU side, we can also rely on the best from NVIDIA as from AMD with the choice of an RTX 3080 Ti (175 W) or a Radeon RX 6850M (145 W). To cool all these beautiful people, Lenovo is counting on a new dissipation system based on a vapor chamber. An almost obligatory passage to install such greedy components in a chassis barely 2 cm thick.
As for the display, different options are offered, ranging from a 165 Hz IPS screen to a 165 Hz Mini-LED panel. In all cases, a 2.5K definition and a 16:10 ratio are on the menu. .
The Lenovo Legion 7 (under AMD processors) will be launched in July from 2,599 euros, while its twin brother, the Legion 7i (under Intel chips), will hit the market at the same time… but this time from 2 999 euros.
Legion Slim 7 and Slim 7i: less power, more mobility
For its Slim 7, Lenovo plays it a little more modest in terms of components, with less powerful CPU and GPU options to allow for greater mobility. The device is indeed 16 mm thick and weighs only 2 kg. However, it also includes a large 99.9 Wh battery compatible with Lenovo’s 135 W fast charge. There is also the same Full HD Webcam and the same materials for the chassis (aluminum and magnesium) to give good solidity to the frame despite its thinness.
As for the components offered, Lenovo allows you to go up to the Core i9-12900HK on the Intel side, and up to the Ryzen 9 6900HX at AMD. Strangely, however, you have to settle for a maximum of 24 GB of RAM (DDR5 at 4,800 MHz), which may seem a bit tight to creative users, in particular. As for the GPU, no surprise, we will go up to an RTX 3070 (100 W) or a Radeon RX 6800S (80 W) at most from AMD.

Several 16-inch screens in 16:10 format are otherwise available, ranging from a Full HD + IPS panel at 165 Hz, to a Mini-LED QHD + and 165 Hz screen (reserved for Intel models, however).
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 (under AMD processors) will be launched in July from 1,899 euros. The Legion Slim 7i (under Intel processors) will arrive on the market in June, from 1,999 euros.
