According to a press release from the manufacturer, both the Yoga Pro 9i and the Yoga Pro 7i and Yoga Pro 7 have dedicated graphics cards. This means you can not only use special features of the graphics card, such as those offered by Nvidia. The graphics unit also gives you access to all the functions of the Lenovo Creator Zone, which is coming to the series with the new generation of Yoga notebooks.

Lenovo Creator Zone – Lenovo wants to push your creativity with AI

The Yoga Creator Zone aims to use generative artificial intelligence to deliver images based on text-based descriptions or sketches. According to the manufacturer, the system can create the images without complex configurations or input prompts. The AI can also work offline.

The Yoga Pro notebooks can use a dedicated graphics solution to train their own model, which is then supposed to create images based on their own style. The model also remains on the device itself. Lenovo describes that the Yoga laptop can learn with any image you provide and can therefore create images that match your preferences. The manufacturer gives an example: If you prefer cubism and train such a model, your laptop will also spit out images in which the style has been integrated.

Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i: AI core and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070

In addition to software solutions, which in the case of the Yoga Pro 9i also includes a collection of productivity tools called Lenovo Premium Suite, the hardware of the notebooks is of course also important. The Yoga Pro 9i is not only the largest notebook of the Pro devices, but also sets itself apart from the other devices in other ways. It gets an AI core, which, together with the processor and a tuning solution, takes on tasks such as color correction of films.

The Yoga Pro 9i displays content with a 16-inch PureSight Pro Mini LED screen with a 3.2K resolution (i.e. 3,200 x 2,000 pixels) and Glass Touch. The refresh rate is 165 Hertz and the brightness is 1,200 nits. The display is also optionally available with IPS, but at 400 nits it is not quite as bright.

Various Intel processors are available inside. Lenovo states that it can install a maximum of the Intel Core Ultra 5 H Series, 7 H Series or 9 H Series. You also have options when it comes to graphics cards, with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 in its laptop version representing the upper end of the line. If you wish, Lenovo can install up to 64 gigabytes of RAM and a PCIe M.2 SSD of up to one terabyte. The battery has a capacity of 84 watt hours.

The travel of the Yoga keyboard is 1.5 millimeters. There is also an infrared camera with five megapixels, speakers with noise cancellation and speakers tuned to Dolby Atmos. In addition to the ports you would expect, there is even an SD card reader on the right side. The notebook, which weighs at least 2.18 kilograms, has a hinge that can be folded up to 150 degrees.

Yoga Pro 7 and Yoga Pro 7i: Slightly smaller, lighter and cheaper

Lenovo also calls the Yoga Pro 7i and the Yoga Pro 7 creative laptops. They are just a little smaller than their large 16-inch sister model. Both also have a dedicated graphics card, but it doesn’t quite match the RTX 4070 in the Yoga Pro 9i. The notebook with the i add-on seems to be a little more powerful than the laptop without it, but it is also a little cheaper.

Different display variants

When it comes to the display, you are spoiled for choice on both devices. Lenovo offers you the choice between three 14.5-inch displays, all of which have an image format of 16:10. You can choose an IPS display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, 90 Hertz refresh rate and 350 nits. This version is the same on both laptops. The Yoga Pro 7 without i-addition also has a version with Glass Touch.

With the Yoga Pro 7i you can also choose an OLED screen. This then has a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, 400 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. Here you have access to HDR and Glass Touch.

The best version with PureSight Pro IPS is again available to both devices. With this panel you get a resolution of 3,072 x 1,920 pixels, a 120 Hertz refresh rate and a brightness of 400 nits. Only the Yoga Pro 7i has Glass Touch.

Inside: graphics card, processor, memory, battery

The manufacturer states that the Yoga Pro 7i will be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5, 7 or 9 H Series. The graphics card used here is a maximum of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 in the laptop version and a maximum of 32 gigabytes of RAM. The Yoga Pro 7 has a maximum of an AMD Ryzen 8845HS, an RTX 3050 and 16 gigabytes of RAM.

With both models you get up to a terabyte of PCIe M.2 SSD storage and a battery with 73 watt hours.

Prices and availability

The Yoga Pro 9i is expected to be available from April 2024 starting at 2,199 euros. The prices for the Yoga Pro 7 and Yoga Pro 7i are slightly lower. You can get them for at least 999 euros or 1,099 euros. All notebooks are available in the colors “Tidal Teal”, a kind of turquoise green and “Luna Grey”.
