The Legion Slim have made a name for themselves on the market of gaming PCs with contained weight and sober design. Their audience is made up of players or creators who want to remain discreet or work on a machine that does not impress you with RGBs, do you want some? Lenovo has just renewed this Slim range with latest generation processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards, but also by revisiting their design. The range is declined through two versions, Slim 5 and Slim 7, which although similar in appearance display some differences in terms of components and design.

Different configurations in RTX 40, and in Intel or AMD

Both PCs feature 16″ screens in 16:10 format with thin borders (2560 x 1600 px) refreshed at 165 or 240 Hz, and feature Intel Core i9-13900H processors, up to 32 GB of RAM, 2 TB of SSD and up to an RTX 4070. For AMD fans, Ryzen 9 7940HS version models will also be available.

The Slim 7 is very thin for a gaming PC.

The Slim 7 is a bit more upscale. Its chassis is entirely made of aluminum and it will be possible to choose a 3.2K panel refreshed at 165 Hz. Be careful however, this model being thinner and lighter than the Slim 5, its thermal envelope is slightly less and it will be necessary to be satisfied with a 125 W RTX 4070, compared to 140 W on the Slim 5. Performance will therefore be impacted. In any case, we appreciate the careful construction of the PCs that we were able to handle and the finesse of the Slim 7, which weighs only 2 kg.

The Slim range remains sober.

For the first time, the Legion Slim 5 will be offered in a 14-inch format. An interesting alternative, because there are ultimately few gaming PCs of this size on the market, yet practical for nomads.

Count a starting price of 2000 € for the Legion Slim 7 (1900 € for the AMD version) and 1400 € for the Slim 5 (1350 € in AMD). Be careful though, at this price, we will surely only be entitled to entry-level graphics cards. It will also be necessary to wait until May to see the Intel models land on the market, and July for the AMDs. Finally, the 14 inch will arrive in September for 1500 €.
