At MWC, Lenovo unveiled a professional and attractive product: a portable screen with good connections and a 2K screen definition.

Portable screens are not the most popular products. Certainly for two reasons. The first is that you have to use it, mainly for mobility, but also if you have little space in your home. Second, these monitors generally have a poor price-to-features ratio when compared to traditional PC monitors.
Regarding this second point, it is less and less true: portable screens are more and more bright, and they have much better definitions. Before, you had to power external displays with USB cables and install dedicated drivers. Now, USB-C simplifies their use.
2K definition for a portable screen
At MWC 2022, Lenovo launched a new ThinkVision M14d portable monitor. It is lightweight, 600 grams, it is a portable 14 inch IPS LCD screen in 2.2K definition (2240 x 1400 pixels), which makes it a good companion for a 16:10 monitor. It has a 60Hz refresh rate, 300 nits peak brightness, 6ms response time, and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut.
As you can see, this monitor does not have the necessary characteristics to play in very good conditions. It’s a screen designed to extend the screen of your laptop, it will do the job perfectly for working on the go. If you have a 2K / QHD screen on your laptop, it is even better to have two screens with the same definition. We are also thinking of teleworkers who do not necessarily have the space at home to install a PC monitor.
Its brightness is not at the level of other screens, we generally exceed 500 nits, but it is very practical: it has two USB Type-C ports which can double as DP1.4 ports. These ports can deliver up to 65W of power to a connected device, such as a laptop. Finally, it has an adjustable foot to put it on a table, for example.
The ThinkVision M14d will be available in France, from August 2022 from 359 euros. A salty price, but the M14d’s proposal remains quite unique for the moment.
