Les Bracelets rouge on TF1: “We thought it was a nice wink”… The screenwriter talks about Mehdi’s return

This evening, TF1 is broadcasting two episodes of Red Bracelets. A season marked by the return of Azize Diabaté in the role of Mehdi. Marie Madinier, one of the writers of the series, spoke to AlloCiné about the return of this character.

On April 15, TF1 launched the fifth and final season of Red Bracelets.

If fans of the series were delighted to find Emma (Kali Boisson), Zoé (Esther Blanc), César (Maxime Pipet) and Nathan (Noah Deric), they were surely very happy to also see the character of Mehdi Kamissoko (Azize Diabaté). ) that we haven’t seen since the season 3 finale.

After leaving him at a preparatory school, Mehdi returned to the Leonardo da Vinci hospital, but this time as a physiotherapist. Indeed, the young man is now in charge of the rehabilitation of Prudence (Chaili Souffir), a teenager admitted to hospital after a spectacular fall from the roof of her high school.

But how was the return of this emblematic Red Bracelets character imagined?

“We thought it was a nice wink”

Met during an interview about the last season of Red Bracelets, Marie Madinier, one of the writers of the TF1 series, spoke to Allociné about Medhi’s return.

It was the producer’s idea Véronique Marchat. She was the one who really wanted the character of Mehdi to return and who brought the idea to us. She really wanted him to come back and especially for us to complete the story of this character who is quite emblematic of the Red Bracelets.“, she explained to us.

And the screenwriter added, “We loved him a lot too. We thought it was a nice nod to the story of this young boy and a way to show how much he had developed. He also arrived at adulthood with this family of heart that he had forged during previous seasons and in particular with Catalan who is a sort of father figure for him“.

Beyond that, the screenwriters also wanted to highlight a form of handover. By way of conclusion, Marie Madinier finally told us that “It was also a nice passing of the baton to show that he had gone from patient to caregiver. We thought it was really pretty. And then we said to ourselves that there was something to do with Prudence and that these two were going to create some pretty funny scenes“.

Season 5 of Red bracelets is broadcast every Monday evening at 9:10 p.m. on TF1.
