Les Enfoirés: the embarrassing confession of a figure of the troupe

On Saturday March 12, 2022, the magazine Grands Reportages on TF1 interviewed a member of the Enfoirés troupe. During this interview, the latter assured that his microphone was not on when he went on stage.

A surprising confession! Last January, the Enfoirés troupe met in Montpellier to put on their last concert. In the magazine Great Reports, on TF1, Sébastien Chabal confided in the microphone of journalist Christian Jeanpierre. He thus revealed:When we come here, we serve the Restos du Coeur. We are at the service of the Enfoirés. It is out of the question to say no. We try to do our best. So as I told you, I’m not a singer, I’m not an actor. That’s why they’re turning my mic off, by the way.

In February 2009, it was when he had joined the troupe that Sébastien Chabal had mentioned the fact of singing in public in the columns of Tele-Leisure. “It was mostly a lot of pressure. I haven’t slept much last night due to thinking, and I’ve been sweating a lot since this morning! I’ve been practicing singing in my living room for two weeks, breaking the ears of my wife and my daughters…“, he had revealed, before adding: “It’s an honor to arrive in the midst of all these artists and to push the song. It’s something you can’t refuse, especially for this great cause of the Restos du Coeur. Me, I’ve been following Les Enfoirés since almost the beginning, I buy the CD of the show every year. I never imagined myself one day on stage with them. I’m so happy…

Julien Arutti, not a good enough singer too?

In March 2019 in the columns of Tele-Leisure, Philippe Lacheau revealed that Julien Arutti had been rejected because he did not sing well enough. “Elodie, Tarek and I sing in the show. Julien had to sing too, but when we did some tests in Paris, he sang too badly… From the first line he sang during rehearsals, the musicians stopped playing. They were embarrassed, they didn’t know how to tell him it wasn’t going to do it, he revealed. For her part, Elodie Fontan added: “It was cute because he was so excited to sing that he asked them for advice like, ‘How can I improve?’, ‘Am I too high?’, ‘Am I too high?’ am I out of time?’ and the production of Les Enfoirés answered him very normally: ‘Sorry, but we are starting too far for there.’
