Les Loups-Garous de Thiercelieux, an essential game: Femme Actuelle The MAG

Born in 2001 from the imagination of Philippe des Pallières and Hervé Marly, this game has sold over 4 million copies! The authors are the first to be surprised by its success. Inspired by Mafia, Russian play by Dimitry Davidoff, the scenario of Loups-Garous of Thiercelieux is based on the clash between two camps. It's all the more fun because there are a lot of us, up to 18 players.

A gamemaster distributes the cards to the participants who discover their identity: werewolves or villagers. Some of these have special powers: hunter, witch, clairvoyant … While the villagers must unmask the werewolves and eliminate them, they try not to be spotted and devour the villagers. Bluff, cunning and suspense get the crowd adrenaline pumping!

A worldwide success

Thiercelieux is a hamlet of Montolivet in Seine-et-Marne where Philippe des Pallières lived when he created the game. Not finding a publisher, he first made the cards by hand with children from the village then founded with Hervé Marly his own publishing house and called it Himself. His company was bought in 2019 by Asmodée, the French leader in board games.

The name of Thiercelieux, poetic and mysterious, and the buzz around the game by adolescents have popularized Werewolves. World famous, it has been adapted into a play and video game, it has inspired a comic strip and even a escape game in Paris. An extension of the game is even envisaged. Nothing can stop the werewolves!
