Letizia from Spain looking cool in jeans: new release hand in hand with Felipe

The Spanish sovereign couple has been increasing outings for a few days. On March 12, 2022, King Felipe VI and his wife the Queen Letizia were in the Canary Islands, on the island of La Palma, to meet the victims of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. The eruption began on September 19 and was declared officially over on December 25, after 10 days of inactivity. As AFP reported earlier this year, the lava destroyed more than 1,300 homes and covered 1,250 hectares of land, including banana plantations, avocados and vineyards.

We are more used to seeing her in a pencil skirt, perched on 12 cm pumps… Far from Madrid and the royal palace, Letizia of Spain has bet on simplicity and comfort. On the island of La Palma on Saturday, the 49-year-old former journalist appeared dressed in a casual look, in jeans and wide-heeled boots. The only dressier touches: her white Uterqüe blouse and her immaculate handbag, also from the Carolina Herrera brand, one of her favorites. This little shoulder bag had already made an appearance on her shoulder during a trip to the cinema with Felipe in 2020. It is definitely her ally for informal outings!

Like other royal couples, such as Prince William and Kate Middleton, Letizia and Felipe are more of a modest type in public. However, the duo offered a few rare tender gestures during this trip far from the capital, even going so far as to hold hands… at a good distance from the photographers all the same (see slideshow).

The day continued in a more formal tone, with a tribute ceremony, still in La Palma. Exit the jeans and the boots, the mother of the princesses Leonor and Sofia (16 and 14 years old) has found a more sophisticated outfit, but no less successful! The one who bluntly assumes her white hair has pulled out her lilac trouser suit from the Bleis Madrid brand, complete with a lace top and a pair of pumps. Both the top and the pair of earrings have been chosen with care since they come from the Isla Bonita program in favor of the development of fashion and creation in La Palma. Once again, Letizia from Spain proves that she is not only the queen of outfit recycling, but also an expert in dress diplomacy.
