Reassuring news. This Monday, May 6, Queen Letizia of Spain attended a public event at the Teatro Real in Madrid. During the ceremony, the wife of Felipe VI caught the eye of many observers. The reason ? The former journalist, who is no stranger to wearing heels, sported a pair of ultra-comfortable sneakers. As reported El País, that same day, Queen Letizia of Spain was forced to wear such shoes because of a recent domestic incident during which she suffered a fractured middle toe on her right foot. Indeed, the injury was apparently caused by an impact between his foot and a table a few weeks ago. Despite everything, Sofia and Leonor’s mother seems to have regained enough mobility to move around and go to a public event.
Questioned by journalists during the event, the queen notably assured that her convalescence was going very well. “It heals in no time.”, she told the press, as reported by El Pais. This isn’t the first time Queen Letizia of Spain has attended a public event in sneakers. During a gala dinner organized as part of the King and Queen’s state trip to the Netherlands, on April 17 and 18, the wife of Felipe VI had indeed worn comfortable shoes. The 51-year-old mother then spent a lot of time sitting, preferring to rest her foot.

This Saturday, May 4, Letizia from Spain had already made a notable appearance during a family outing. Indeed, the queen and her husband, Felipe VI, found their daughter Leonor in Zaragoza, far from the cameras and rigorous protocols. As the magazine indicated Vanitatis El Confidencial, the day began with a military ceremony at the city’s Military Academy, where King Felipe VI celebrated the 40th anniversary of his enlistment under the Spanish flag. The event took on a special dimension since Princess Leonor also continued her military training there. The occasion was therefore doubly special, bringing together duty and personal emotion.
