Letizia of Spain, star of Madrid Fashion Week: the queen innovates with a homemade look

Paris Fashion Week has just ended, place to that of Madrid. Less known than its French cousin, or even those of New York, London and Milan, the Spanish fashion week has nothing to be ashamed of. even the queen Letizia take part! On March 11, 2022, the wife of King Felipe VI had put on her most beautiful immaculate outfit to discover the stylites who will be the fashion of tomorrow. Who knows, maybe one of them will one day dress it up for an official release…

When she arrived Friday at Ifema, Madrid’s convention center, Letizia from Spain was greeted by a crowd visibly delighted with her arrival. Between two selfies, the 49-year-old former journalist went to meet some young designers who came to present their latest collections. For this solo outing, devoted to fashion, the queen had taken care of her outfit: she wore a white set – a blouse and a mid-length skirt – created by the stylist of the palace. Rare are the times that Letizia wears custom-made clothes, especially at home! The mother of Princesses Leonor and Sofia (16 and 14 years old) completed her look with a pair of pumps from the Magrit Shoes brand.

Like other crowned heads, such as Kate Middleton or Victoria of Sweden, Queen Letizia has mastered dress diplomacy. Whether for the sake of economy or ecological awareness, it is not uncommon to see her wearing the same pieces on several occasions, even going so far as to recycle clothing from brands – Spanish of course – for the general public such as Zara.

Recently, a look by Letizia has particularly caught the eye: on March 3, while taking part in the ceremony of the “Subsidies of the Mutua Madrilena Foundation for social projects”, the queen wore a traditional Ukrainian blouse (see slideshow). A piece of clothing that leaves little doubt as to its position on the conflict that has pitted Ukraine against Vladimir Putin’s Russian troops for two weeks now…
