About a week ago, Lina Larissa Strahl, 26, caused excitement in the first live show of “Let’s Dance” on RTL (also on RTL+). With dance partner Zsolt Sándor Cseke, 36, the former “Bibi & Tina” star even opened the show as the first participant on the dance floor. They received 14 points for their successful quick step – and safe progression. And this despite the fact that Strahl has been suffering from panic attacks for years and imagines “catastrophe scenarios” in her head, like herself in an interview with RTL.

Lina Larissa Strahl: “You don’t want to fail”

The topic of mental health is becoming increasingly important to the young actress and singer. So lately she’s been talking more and more openly about the fear in her head. In therapy sessions she gave her the name Philipp. But do an anxiety disorder and the pressure of a live dance show go together?

On “Let’s Dance” their fears are “of course very present in many places, because you simply think about it a lot and are under competitive pressure,” explains Strahl in the interview. She “didn’t want to fail” on the dance floor, her thoughts would be “very confused,” she would be “under a lot of stress,” and a lot of adrenaline would flow through her body.

Help through therapy – and “Let’s Dance” partner Cseke

According to his own statement, Strahl has known this carousel of thoughts since his early years. She would constantly imagine “disaster scenarios” and expect, for example, that she would have an accident in the car if she did not wear a seatbelt. For this reason, Strahl can “hardly enjoy” her successful acting and singing career and can only be happy about what she has achieved after her acclaimed performances, with some distance.

However, the 26-year-old was helped by therapy that she started in recent years – and her sensitive dance partner Zsolt Sándor Cseke. The professional dancer is “a very positive and optimistic person,” which is why the two complement each other well, said Strahl.

The “Let’s Dance” participant has been sharing her newly acquired knowledge about mental health in her new podcast “Fühl ich” since February 22nd. In the audio broadcast, Strahl wants to dispel prejudices about mental health and make listeners aware that it is good to get help.
