Christian Polanc has ended his “Let’s Dance” career – at least on the RTL dance floor. In his podcast, the professional dancer continues to talk about the show and shares interesting details.

Since 2007 was Christian Polanc, 45, an integral part of “Let’s Dance”, has been on hiatus since this year. “I’ve been toying with the idea for a long time. It’s not that I don’t like the show anymore or that someone is pissing me off. More than 50 percent of the decision is really due to my professional situation. I have a few projects, more than that now 30 employees. I noticed more and more that I was the brake on this and that many things could be much further ahead. When other people and their incomes also depend on it – and you know that too – it’s not that easy,” said Polanc in an interview with “Express.de” about his reasons for leaving the show.

He wants to concentrate more on his own projects – and on his private life. “Unlike others, I’ve never been lucky enough to be with my dance partner. When you travel so much, it’s difficult to get to know someone in a relaxed manner,” Christian Polanc explained to the publication.

Christian Polanc: “The music controls” “Let’s Dance”

Polanc still accompanies the current season of the popular dance show – he has a new podcast “Let’s Talk About Dance”, in which one or two guests also have their say. In the current issue, Christian Polanc talks to Pascal “Pommes” Hens, 43, who won the show in 2019. The two talk about the music selection for the second live show. “If you have a song that everyone knows and that is well received, then it’s easy to dance to it. It will be better received, that’s normal,” says Pascal Hens – and promptly receives encouragement from professional dancer Christian : “Often you’re just playing around to some crappy music and it still doesn’t come across as cool. And the others just stand there and just glance at each other to dramatic, beautiful music and everyone is amazed.”

Polanc also reveals that the professional dancers are allowed to make music requests at the beginning of the season, which will “always” be taken into account, but there is no guarantee – except for the “Magic Moment” and the “Final Freestyle”. “Ultimately you have to take what you get,” sums up the 45-year-old. And this despite the fact that music is an extremely important tool in the performances. “I don’t know whether it is used consciously to have a control factor. I don’t want to assume that, but the music controls,” says Christian Polanc. It is “far better” to have “awesome music” than a song “that makes everyone fall asleep.”
