RTL has announced that it is planning a kids version of the dance show "Let's Dance". The broadcaster has confirmed a media report.

The dance show "Let's Dance" will start a new round at the end of February (from February 26th on RTL, also via TVNow). Now RTL has announced that a kids version of the successful format is currently being developed. "Bild am Sonntag" had previously reported on the new version of the show. "The format is actually at an early stage of development," the broadcaster responded to the report on Sunday evening (January 31). RTL did not reveal any further information about the new version. All other official details would follow in due course, the statement said.

According to "Bild am Sonntag", a mini-season of four episodes will be broadcast, in which celebrity children between the ages of eight and eleven will participate. Five or six young stars should take part in the shooting, which should start at the end of March. Otherwise, the show should come in the usual "Let's Dance" garb, so the little ones also train in standard dances alongside professional dancers and then present them to the TV audience. There was also such an offshoot in the USA in 2018.

From February 26, 2021, however, the big ones will be allowed to run first. The former "Tagesschau" spokesman Jan Hofer (69), the former Monrose singer Senna Gammour (41), Auma Obama (61), ex- "DSDS" participant Vanessa Neigert ( 28), singer Ilse DeLange (43) or party hit star Mickie Krause (50).
