In this year's season of "Let's Dance", the audience will again be missing some beloved professional dancers.

For many viewers, they are the real stars of the popular RTL show "Let's Dance": the dance professionals who teach celebrities how to move on the floor. Especially in the new season, however, viewers have to get used to some new faces. Many popular professionals are now a thing of the past – and the reasons for this are not always clear. The "Let's Dance" fans had to say goodbye to these dancers.

Erich Klann and Oana Nechiti

After a full ten years, Erich Klann (33) has decided to leave the RTL show (for the time being). During this time he danced with celebrities such as Lilly Becker (44), Cora Schumacher (44) and Victoria Swarovski (27), and won the show three times. There is a good reason for his departure, however: family time. In a detailed Instagram post he explained, among other things: "When do I have time to build a house, finally get married? When can we work with Oana again on a long-term project? The answer is: Now!" It remains to be seen whether the exit is permanent.

His fiancée and mother of his son, Oana Nechiti (32), left "Let's Dance" in 2018. She "led" among others "Big Brother" veteran Jürgen Milski (57), Ralf Bauer (54, "Against the Wind") and Eric Stehfest (31, "GZSZ") across the floor. In 2019 and 2020 she supported pop titan Dieter Bohlen (67) in the jury of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". Together with Klamm, Nechiti wants to concentrate on her dance school and her private life – and initially only judge "Let's Dance" from the outside. In their new podcast "Dance or not – Let's talk", the two discuss their view of the show after each broadcast.

Massimo Sinató

Last year's winner Massimo Sinató (40) also decided this year to concentrate on the birth of his first child and to support his wife in this new phase of life. A shame for the fans: the professional has already danced with Liliana Matthäus (33) or Barbara Becker (54). He led Sophia Thomalla (31, "Are You The One") to victory in 2010, and last year Lili Paul-Roncalli (22). Incidentally, his offspring is a real "Let's Dance" child: Mother is model and actress Rebecca Mir (29), with whom Sinató danced in 2012 on the show.

Ekaterina Leonova

On the other hand, the (involuntary?) Departure of Ekaterina Leonova (33) remains a big mystery. She had won the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons with her celebrity men Gil Ofarim (38, "Round'n'Round"), Ingolf Lück (62, "Pastewka") and handball player Pascal Hens (40) – and has been since 2020 No longer present. In a question and answer session on Instagram, Leonova recently said that she would be happy if she could get back on the 'Let's Dance' floor. She can currently be seen on the Sat.1 show "Das große Backen".

Sergiu and Regina Luca

Something similar can be heard or not heard from the professional dance couple Sergiu (38) and Regina Luca (32). He has already danced four times, including with Alessandra Meyer-Wölden (37) and Barbara Meier (34). His wife has already been there five times, last dancing in 2020 with John Kelly (53), who, however, quit early for personal reasons. Neither of them are in this year. Regina Luca only announced on Instagram that she would remain loyal to the 'Let's Dance' family and that they should be surprised.

Katja Kalugina

Katja Kalugina (27) is also no longer part of the party after four seasons. After dancing with Lukas Rieger (21, "Treasure"), among others, she tried her luck as an amateur in the current season of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". The ex of Nico Schwanz (43) even made it into the recall – but not further. Maybe you will see her again next year as a professional on the floor.

Isabel Edvardsson

Why professional dancer Isabel Edvardsson (38) is not there this year is immediately obvious on Instagram: She is heavily pregnant. After 13 seasons in which she took first place with Wayne Carpendale (43, "The Country Doctor") and Alexander Klaws (37, "Take me Tonight"), this year she has to "participate" from the living room. From there she will also speak the official "Let's Dance" podcast and thus still be part of the show.
