Lewis Hamilton gave an update after his corona illness: The recovered Formula 1 professional has lost a few pounds.

Formula 1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton (35) has tested positive for the corona virus, as the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team announced on December 1st. As a result, he was unable to drive the Sakhir Grand Prix and only started again at the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi. Corona disease has left its mark on the Formula 1 star, as he has now revealed on Instagram.

In an Instagram story, the professional athlete shows himself in a gym. He writes: "I've lost six kilos in the past two months, four of them when I had Covid." He lost so many muscles. "Starting again with little muscle power is no fun, but I am determined to regain my full strength. Without diligence, no gain."

Special award for Hamilton

After his corona infection became known, Hamilton turned to his fans in an Instagram video and made it clear that the disease did not leave him without a trace. For him it was "one of the toughest weeks in a long time". Lewis Hamilton made his seventh World Cup triumph this year, and Formula 1 is now on its winter break. Last Sunday evening, Hamilton received a special award in his home country Great Britain. He thanked him on Instagram for winning the BBC Sports Personality of the Year title.
