Is it possible to criticize Jean-Luc Mélenchon at La France insoumise? The answer to this question will be given this week, because MP Raquel Garrido is summoned in the coming days to explain herself after her critical remarks towards the leader of LFI. The MP will have to justify herself to party officials.

Is it possible within France Insoumise to criticize Jean-Luc Mélenchon? After declaring that the Insoumis leader was “harming the party”, the member for Seine-Saint-Denis, Raquel Garrido is in the hot seat. She is summoned this week before an internal tribunal made up of party executives such as David Guiraud and Anne Stambach-Terrenoir.

Raquel Garrido could be sidelined

They will have to decide whether Raquel Garrido committed a crime of “lèse majesté” against Jean-Luc Mélenchon for having declared: “Jean-Luc Mélenchon has been harming the movement for ten months”, that is to say since the Adrien affair Quatennens. Unpublished remarks within the party and which do not go unnoticed, as for the deputy Éric Coquerel: “She must explain her behavior and for the moment, we leave it there”, he justifies.

A sanction could be taken against the member for Seine-Saint-Denis following this summons. No details have been revealed for the moment but Raquel Garrido risks being removed from the rebellious group in the National Assembly. For her part, the MP challenged Sunday in The Obs wanting to “kill the father” and ensures “to develop La France insoumise”. It remains to be seen whether Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s clan will be excited by this argument.
