A new controversy erupts around a France Insoumise MP accused of anti-Semitism. This is Thomas Portes who, on the social network

The case starts from a video of the violent arrest of a terrorist in Gaza, published on an Instagram group. Independent journalist Younis Tirawi, infiltrated in this group, thinks that the young man who posted this video was the same one who filmed it. He therefore revealed on his X account the identity and address of the young man whom he describes as a criminal.

The victim is placed under judicial protection

However, the victim, who lives in the Lyon region, was never enlisted in the Israeli army and has never set foot in Gaza. The publication was then taken up as is by Taoufik Tahani, honorary president of the France Palestine Solidarité association, then by LFI deputies including Thomas Portes. An act of extreme seriousness for Caroline Yadan, Renaissance deputy, who with several elected officials, decided to contact the public prosecutor.

“Even if that were true, it’s already serious. But here, it’s all the more serious because first of all, the information is completely false and a young Jew is being handed over to popular vengeance. Not only , without any verification, but above all with a kind of hatred, malice, extreme violence. I am in favor of extremely firm and exemplary sanctions being pronounced in court against this character.”

According to information from Europe 1, the young Lyonnais is the subject of death threats on social networks. A man was even arrested yesterday while prowling around his home. Today, he is placed under judicial protection.
