The LG DualUp monitor is now on the market – introducing a new vision of multitasking for digital work as well as computer games. That’s what the upright monitor costs.
- The LG DualUp monitor has launched in the US market.
- The 16:18 display is optimized for multitasking in portrait format.
- The monitor, which is priced at around 700 US dollars, is not yet available in Germany.
Is LG finally making the breakthrough for upright displays with the DualUp monitor? The manufacturer seems to be reasonably sure of his cause. Because in contrast to the monitor models, which can be rotated 90 degrees as required, the DualUp monitor is fundamentally designed for operation in portrait format.
The HDR10 monitor with USB-C connection and different display modes for gaming or office work, which has now been launched on the US market for around 700 dollars, is not yet available in Germany, but will probably also start in this country in the foreseeable future.
The upright display of the new monitor measures 28 inches diagonally – and is designed to display two 21-inch windows on top of each other in split-screen mode. However, a full-screen mode for video creators from the TikTok era should be interesting. After all, nowadays videos are recorded and viewed in a smartphone-compatible portrait format.
Vertical displays are actually nothing new
The idea of upright displays for work and home use is by no means new: Samsung and other tech competitors have already brought series models of rotating screens onto the market – but perhaps the time was not quite right for it.
Some of you may have already seen it in “Matrix: Resurrections”: Keanu Reeves as game developer Thomas Anderson also uses Dell screens in portrait format.
