Even as we wonder about a possible cancellation of CES 2022, LG is today presenting its brand new technological creation, the 28MQ780 DualUp. This is a monitor of a new kind, incorporating a 28 “IPS panel but also (and above all!) A brand new 16:18 format.

An unusual ratio to say the least, and a far cry from the good old and widespread 16: 9 format. You will have understood it, it is about a monitor all in verticality, baptized ” Square Double By LG, since it can display on a single screen the equivalent of two 21.5 “screens placed one above the other.

On the resolution side, the screen signed LG can climb to a definition of 2560 x 2880 pixels, this vertical assembly of two screens in 2560 x 1440 pixels, obviously without the slightest border between them.

According to LG, this new model aims to help reduce lateral head movements, which cause neck pain when switching between two screens. The DualUp screen is also intended to save space on a desk, with a specific Ergo stand.

Technologically speaking, the LG panel here is capable of climbing up to 300 nits in brightness, with a contrast of 1000: 1, not to mention HDR10 compatibility. There are also two HDMI ports and a USB-C port. It remains to be seen when, and at what price, this amazing 28MQ780 DualUp monitor from LG will be available.
