LG stops production of its €68,000 rollable TV


During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2019, the Korean firm LG presented a television that was ambitious to say the least. A rollable model, called Signature OLED R, awarded by the show then later launched at a price of €68,000.

Unsurprisingly, the Signature OLED R television was not a commercial success, pushing LG to stop production. No need to explain to you why this model is having difficulty finding buyers, just take a look at its prohibitive price despite the technological prowess. As the Korean media explains Chosun Ilbothe company is not able to sell this product in good quantities.

Heading towards transparent screens

LG is not done with innovations. During the last CES, the Korean firm presented a transparent screen. Its compatriot Samsung made the same technological demonstration during the show. Also at this event, the company unveiled traditional models with the new QNED and QNED Mini-LED TVs.
