Lhyfe obtains a subsidy from the French state

(AOF) – Lhyfe, producer of green and renewable hydrogen, has received confirmation of financial support from the French State, via a subsidy of up to 149 million euros, for the construction of a production plant of green hydrogen with an installed electrolysis capacity of 100 MW near Le Havre. This project, supported by Lhyfe for more than two years, was validated by the European Commission as part of the third wave of IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) on hydrogen.

With this project, Lhyfe intends to produce up to 34 tonnes of green hydrogen/day near the Grand Canal in Le Havre, one of the largest industrial-port areas in Europe.

The site is located near the Yara plant in Le Havre, whose decarbonization roadmap includes the use of green hydrogen. Yara is interested in and supports Lhyfe’s project, and will study with Lhyfe all possible collaborations in order to decarbonize its industrial process.

The Lhyfe production site, which would be located on a 2.8 hectare land area in Gonfreville-l’Orcher, should see the light of day in 2028.
