After seven years of bullying at school, Liane committed suicide. La Dépêche, Saturday, September 18, 2021, shares the moving testimony of his big sister, in the fight against this type of violence.

Far from being rare and yet still taboo, bullying is a scourge that affects more than one in 10 students according to the Ministry of Education. Often killed by those who are victims of it, it sometimes leads them to commit the worst. In an article published on Saturday, September 18, The Dispatch asked Louise, Liane’s older sister. The latter took her own life at 21, after trying to overcome her trauma from seven years of humiliation. From the 6th to the final year, the young girl will be the subject of incessant mockery on her physique in general and specifically her weight, her sexual orientation, her ideas… Everything was a pretext to flout the scapegoat. “Seems like a sad story but I wanna show that we can get by, that we have to talk about it“, explained Louise, who only discovered the ordeal lived by reading the diaries of the disappeared one.

This verbal violence suffered in a Toulouse college is fueled by two people, mainly another young girl, named Célia by The Dispatch who changed his name. To get out of it, Liane will seek help from doctors and will have the courage to lodge a complaint that has remained in vain. Death is the outcome she will choose to free herself from her demons. The day before her big sister’s birthday, she writes in her notebook: “Many will not understand me. They will call me selfish, a liar, a hypocrite. Too bad. There is nothing to understand but suffering. I don’t think you can understand this pain until you’ve experienced it yourself.“And to understand his nightmare, his family had to read his dramatic stories written down on paper.

A book to exteriorize

I was ashamed, I felt guilty but today I want to help. It may be too late for my sister but not for everyone“Louise told The Dispatch. As a tribute to her sister and all the silent sufferers, she is preparing to publish “La Fille de Cristal”, a testimonial novel composed of her sister’s texts and written in collaboration with 47 people: “I was able to work with members of the government, teachers, students, business leaders but also people who have harassed themselves. Today, a play is going to be created, a podcast, an influencer has spoken about it. It was the goal. Stop being silent and talk about the harassment and the consequences because it is real and can be tragic. ” An Ulule link, a crowdfunding platform, was created to help finance the project.
