The actress Libuse Safrankova died at the age of 68. She achieved fame with “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella”.

The actress Libuse Safrankova (1953-2021) is dead. Her son has that the Czech news channel “CNN Prima News” confirmed. Safrankova was 68 years old. The Czech actress became internationally known as Cinderella in the fairy tale film “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella” from 1973. The film is often shown on German TV at Christmas. In other countries, the fairy tale is also considered a Christmas classic.

Safrankova, who was born in Brno in 1953, had her first film role in the literary film “Babicka” in the early 1970s. Over the years she has appeared in numerous film and TV productions, including other fairy tale films such as “The Little Mermaid”. The actress was also no stranger to the theater stage. In 2015 it was announced that she had lung cancer. Safrankova had been married to her fellow actor Josef Abrham (81) for many years.
