BENGHAZI (Reuters) – Protesters burst into the parliament building in Tobruk, eastern Libya, on Friday evening and lit a fire outside it to express their anger at the two rival governments, witnesses told Reuters.

Parliament’s security forces dug in, witnesses said.

Hundreds of people demonstrated Friday in several cities in Libya to protest against chronic power cuts and to denounce the negligence of the authorities which worsens their living conditions.

The discussions led by the presidents of the two rival Libyan parliaments in Geneva ended on Thursday without any tangible result to allow the electoral process to be relaunched.
