The veracity of the testimonies was supported by an American program which tested and totally disapproved this practice, while proving its uselessness. If you still want to try it out to be sure, this means defying a radar and therefore risking a fine. Furthermore, it is an action strictly illegal. In addition to speeding, you run the additional risk of receiving a fine of 500 euros, if the police notice that you have tried to make your license plate illegible.
