Lidl electric bikes are coming back! And that’s good news…

As is often the case with Lidl, product availability can be brief or even random. This was particularly the case with the Crivit

Good news, the brand announces that the Urban E-Bikes X and Y will go on sale on March 25: the first (in black), is the high frame version and the second, its low frame version. At first glance, we are very close to the model tested last summer.

This is the case aesthetically, but also technically since we find the same MIVICE M080 engine developing 45 Nm of torque. The battery, which is based on LG cells, has the same capacity of 360 Wh as last year. However, the announced autonomy increases from 70 to 100 km. The transmission remains a single-speed with a Gates carbon belt. Lidl is being cautious in announcing 20,000 km of maintenance-free use, but it should be possible to do more.

For the new vintage, Lidl has chosen to pay attention to the details. First of all, the design of the assistance controls has evolved and is more modern. It is still integrated above the upper tube and now offers a boost mode like the VanMoof. For 20 seconds max, it will be possible to switch to full electric mode at full power, without needing to pedal. The Crivit Urban E-Bikes also benefit from an upgraded braking system since we now find a Shimano system.

The front light is also different as are the tires. Still equipped with a reflective edge, they are now signed Schwalbe and are presented as puncture-proof.

No need to go to a Lidl store, these two bikes will only be available on the German brand’s website.
