Lidl is lowering the price of petrol: This means you can now save money on every fill-up

Petrol and diesel are still quite expensive. A liter of Super quickly costs 1.90 euros and more. The journey to the gas station is therefore sobering, especially for commuters. If you fill up the tank several times a month, you have to dig deep into your pockets. Lidl’s current campaign comes at just the right time. Anyone who uses the discounter’s Lidl Plus app can activate a fuel discount using a promotional voucher and thus reduce the price of petrol when filling up.

With Lidl Plus you save 3 cents per liter

You don’t have the Lidl Plus app yet? Then simply download it from the Google Play or App Store and create a free user account. After opening the software, you will find the fuel discount voucher as a “Top Deal” at the top of the display.

Tap on the image and then select “Secure your advantage”. A barcode will now appear on your cell phone screen, which you can have scanned at the gas station cash register after refueling. The discount of three cents per liter will then be automatically granted to you.

Important: The promotion is only valid until October 15th and only at participating Shell gas stations. You can find a list of these on the shell website set up for the campaign. Please note: Only one discount voucher can be redeemed per refueling transaction.

There are also small restrictions on the campaign. CNG, LPG, LNG, hydrogen, electricity and AdBlue are excluded from the discounts. In addition, the discount cannot be granted if you pay with the Shell Card, with other fuel and service cards or with Shell SmartPay.

The discount of 3 cents on a maximum amount of petrol of 70 liters corresponds to a maximum discount of 2.10 euros. So you don’t save a lot when refueling, but you can use the coupon more than once. This means you can save a few euros a month and we all know: small animals also make a mess.

Save on fuel all year round

If you don’t want to sign up for Lidl Plus or want to save money outside of the promotion, we recommend using fuel-saving apps. These compare the prices of current gasoline prices in your area at different gas stations and show you the cheapest pumps.

In addition, some apps such as “mehr-tanken” offer you a price history and recommend the right time to drive to the gas pump or advise you that you should wait a while before refueling.
