5 everyday hacks guaranteed to make your life easier

Unfortunately, I have to admit: I didn’t know what was coming until a few weeks ago, myself. And it’s just a few small steps or information that can make everything easier. You ask yourself: why didn’t I think of it myself? Oh well. After all, I will probably have fewer problems in the further years of my life.

There are so many things that we encounter in everyday life that we never want the way we do. For example, the morning shower and the towel afterwards. The wrapping lasts just as long until you move it and whoops, the towel is on the floor. That’s enough of that! We will now tell you more about how we make towels our second skin and which other everyday objects have other uses that we mostly ignore:

They can do more than just sag

Some of us have used the holes in pan handles to hang our favorite cooks. But often they don’t even fit over the hooks we bought – and then we ask ourselves: What’s the point of all this nonsense? well! The reason is that the holes were not created for this purpose. They were probably originally intended as a practical place to put your wooden spoon so that it doesn’t keep slipping off the edge and smearing sauce or fat on your stovetop. Depending on the manufacturer, some hole sizes are even suitable for oblong shapes like that of a spatula. With pots, you can place your spoon in the handle – but if you are cooking pasta, for example, it makes more sense to place the spoon directly over the pot. Because wooden spoons ensure that the water does not boil over. Feel free to try it out!

So your bathrobe stays closed

How often has it happened to you that your bathrobe opens again despite the knot? I’ve been like this a few times. Most of the time we are just at home, but of course we would be happy if we could work around the problem when visiting the sauna or on a wellness holiday. An easier way than tying the robe from back to front as usual is to just pull the tie through the two loops from the front. Then just tie the ends together at the front and you’re done! In any case, I had to find out during this self-experiment that the bathrobe held up much better this way than before.

Pümpel is not equal to Pümpel

We often prefer to take care of our own problems – and of course, especially when our toilet is blocked. Perhaps that is also the reason why the wrong plunger has prevailed in many households in this situation for decades. The rather flat plunger that many people store in the bathroom is not intended for the toilet at all! It is intended for problems with the sink or the shower, for example. For even more suction power, an accordion-style plunger can be a good choice. The right plunger for the toilet has a narrowing end in addition to the well-known flat part. It clearly adapts better to most toilet drains than its flatter counterpart. However, if your toilet has managed well without an upgrade so far, the purchase is of course not a must.

It’s not just good for stirring

The Spiral Spoon. It’s super long and has a spiral pattern, but what’s the point of that? For many, the spoon is just a visual gimmick or a somewhat strange-looking mixer. But actually, the spiral shape has a specific and also very useful purpose: it helps to let carbonated drinks flow along the spoon into the cocktail. No joke! Thanks to the design, the soft drink does not foam up unnecessarily, which makes mixing cocktails easier.

How towels finally stay on the body

I have to admit: it’s always been a constant battle between me and the towel. No matter how I sling it, after a few minutes it will land on the ground or I’ll trap it in my legs with my cat-like reflexes in the fall. But the towel does not have to have this annoying habit. For anyone who got it wrong like me, there’s a simple trick: wrap the towel around, then don’t squeeze the end into the wrap robe. Let’s all say goodbye to that together! Instead, you should grab the towel by the edge and fold it down several times, like you roll up pants that are too long – only in this case, we roll them down. Two or three times are usually enough. This will hold up much better than just tucking the end of the towel into the brim.
