Light No Fire: Hello Games, creator of No Man’s Sky, unveils the first “real open world”

Although he had a difficult start, No Man’s Sky has brilliantly managed to climb the slope to establish itself as an essential game in the video game landscape of recent years, regularly supplied with new content. Since 2016, Hello Games not only continued to support this intergalactic adventure and also released in 2020 The Last Campfire, mixing adventure and puzzles. On the occasion of Game Awards 2023Sean Murray took the stage to introduce the next project from the studio he has been working on for 5 yearswhich will be damn ambitious once again, because he then declared thatit will be “the first real open world, something without borders”, to be taken in the literal sense, namely a fantastic and unexplored land where we can go on an adventure with friends, since the multiplayer will be strongly emphasized, with mountains intended to be as big as Everest. In short, here is Light No Fire :

For a small independent team, this is again pretty crazy. This open world will be procedurally generated and its first trailer shows us that it will be possible to build buildings very quickly, fly on the backs of various creatures and swim. It remains to be seen whether it will also be possible to play entirely alone by having the world to ourselves or whether it will necessarily be necessary to share an instance with several people, which risks putting off more than one. Steam indicates that it is a single-player game with online co-op, but that remains to be seen given the project’s official description.

Light No Fire is an adventure game, building, survival and exploration together. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role-playing game with the freedom of a survival sandbox.

  • A multiplayer Earth – Build a life together. Meet players from all over the world, build your life, explore and survive together. Build persistent buildings and communities, or head out on your own to explore the world for others.
  • A procedural Earth – A truly open world, without borders, on a scale never attempted before. An extremely varied and dense planet filled with immersive biomes, unique enemies and valuable resources to discover.
  • A fantasy land – Light No Fire presents you with an ancient land to discover. One where you’re not the hero. Rich in lore, mysteries and where a constant struggle for survival takes place. Inspired by the adventure, charm and imagination we love about classic fantasy.
  • An unexplored Earth – All mountains can be climbed, and below them are endless vistas, oceans and continents that perhaps no one else has seen. Who will climb the highest mountains, who will find the deepest sea? Sail across vast oceans and rivers, ride wild beasts through fantastical landscapes, fly dragons over unknown landscapes.
