Lightyear: Will you meet Woody, Rex and Co. in the “Toy Story” spin-off?

• From June 16, 2022, Buzz Lightyear will return to German cinemas in the animated film “Lightyear”.

In “Lightyear” there will be a reunion with a well-known and popular character on the big screen from June 16, 2022. Toy Story toy hero Buzz Lightyear returns in a new Pixar animated adventure. Previously, Buzz was always seen with his friend Woody and the other toys from Toy Story. Therefore, many fans are now wondering whether the friendly cowboy and Co. will also appear in “Lightyear”?

The Animated Film “Lightyear” tells the story of the young space ranger Buzz. He is stranded with his crew on a foreign planet and is then stuck here for a year.

However, over this time the group manages to build a new spaceship with which they plan to return home. But when Buzz embarks on the first test flight, things don’t go according to plan and the brave hero finds himself unexpectedly on an intergalactic adventure.

Looking at the trailer and the new story, you quickly realize that “Lightyear” takes a different look at the character known from “Toy Story” this time. Instead of the toy figure, the film revolves around a fictional but human character. This time, Buzz Lightyear is the “real” hero who is the basis for the Toy Story character.

Unfortunately, since we are not in the “Toy Story” toy world this time, it makes little sense for Buzz to meet well-known toy friends in his adventure. Of course, we should still keep our eyes peeled, because the makers of Pixar like to hide a few Easter Eggs here and there in their films. Nevertheless, it remains unlikely that Woody will become a space cowboy and Rex will float through space as a dinosaur.
