Ligue 1: Dazn could cost €15 per month from next week with a bizarre trick

Dazn is increasing its promotional offers to try to attract the French public. The next promotion of the platform has an amazing model.

After two years with Amazon and its Ligue 1 at around ten euros per month, Dazn is struggling to convince in France. The platform struggles to convince, in particular because of a high price (€29.99 per month with commitment, and €39.99 without commitment), poorly suited to the incomes of French people. Since its launch, the platform has increased efforts and promotional periods to try to convince: the 7th day of Ligue 1, for example, was accessible to everyone for free (if you have taken advantage of it and do not wish to continue, do not don’t forget to unsubscribe).

A subscription for €30… for two

According to Sacha Nokovitch, journalist for the sports newspaper L’Équipe, Dazn will go even further the week of October 14, with a new offer with strange contours. Rather than lowering its prices once again, Dazn will launch an offer “ two simultaneous screens » at €29.99. This will allow you to share the subscription with a friend to bring it down to €15 each. In the accounts, this only makes one real subscriber to the service, at its normal price and one can wonder how Dazn will amortize its costs by launching such a formula which halves the value of its product.

In reality, however, it is indeed a strategy that could pay off. While France is rediscovering piracy and IPTV, fiercely fought by Dazn, Dazn’s main problem is its price. The quality of the images, the comments and the interactions on the field with the players and the public can always improve over time and are not barriers to purchase – even if doing better than Amazon, which had attracted the French public, will remain a challenge.

If you were planning to subscribe for the OM-PSG match on October 27, perhaps wait a little longer.
