As the GamesWirtschaft site points out, participation in the opening ceremony Opening Night Live is necessarily linked to a presence in the exhibitor hall. In other words, we already know that we should not wait for announcements from Nintendo, PlayStation, Activision Blizzard, Take-Two Interactive and Wargaming in the next conference presented by Geoff Keighley, which is scheduled for August 23 at 8 p.m.
The absence of PlayStation is obviously one more blow for gamescom, which in normal times could count on the presence of the manufacturer. During the 2019 edition, the latter notably presented Death Stranding by Kojima Productions and Marvel’s Iron Man VR by Camouflaj, while welcoming partner titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Control to its stand.
According to gamescom organizers, 60,000 tickets have been sold since the box office opened two weeks ago. To date, Sega, Bandai Namco, Koch Media, THQ Nordic and Level Infinite are among the major names that have confirmed their participation in the event.
