Her “greatest success“, she assures him, it is her daughter Tina, whom she adopted while she was married to double bassist Bibi Rovère. But between the two parents, things turned sour.
As the newspaper recalls Release in its September 18, 2023 edition, the 91-year-old actress – she celebrates her birthday on January 30, 2024 – suffered for a long time from her partner’s faults. “Jealous, alcoholic, drug addict, violent“, he would have made Liliane Rovère go through hell. “Of all the hard blows, the war, the pensions, the rape, the bad film and all the other stuff, nothing I haven’t recovered from“, however, she writes in her autobiography The Crazy Life of Lilipublished in 2019 by Robert Laffont.
In this book, Liliane Rovère also looked back on her shared relationship with another very famous musician. She was sent to the United States, to New York, to an uncle in 1954 to seriously study theater. It was in this context, aged 21, that she met the great trumpeter Chet Baker. The star of the series Ten percent was in a relationship with him for two years but she doesn’t have lasting memories of him either. “It was love at first sight for him, I let myself be carried away by the flow, passive and delighted at the same time. He was a handsome boy, teenager style, a bit of a thugshe says. We hardly knew each other. We made love a lot, but without complicity. Without idealizing it, with pleasure and affection, and a little sadness too, it was excessive and it remained so until the end“.
