Since the creation, in 2022, of the Lillarious festival, whose shows have just sold out, the northern city dreams of being the capital of laughter.

EWhat if the future of French-speaking humor was written in Hauts-de-France? The founder of the famous Montreux Comedy Festival, Grégoire Furrer, says he believes in it. “In Lille, there is crazy potential! » he exclaims – and it sounds like a cry from the heart. In 2019, however, it was in Paris that the Swiss entrepreneur met the president of Hauts-de-France, Xavier Bertrand. Together, the two men sow the first seeds of the Lillarious project – contraction of Lille and English hilarious (hilarious). “There was an incredible political alignment between the region, the metropolis and the City of Lille to support the festival”emphasizes Grégoire Furrer.
