The operator Lime is acquiring a new self-service electric two-wheeler with Citra, deployed as part of a pilot program in a Californian city.

The operator behind the service of scooters, bicycles and electric scooters is experimenting with a brand new machine in a Californian city, Long Beach more precisely.
Citra is not really a bicycle, nor a trendy scooter: it is located halfway between these two categories of vehicle. It is also difficult to qualify it as a moped despite its acceleration handle, which belongs to the segment of mopeds, which must however respect certain rules in France (license plate, insurance).
Still an experimental project
Let’s say that for the moment, this experimental project is confined to American laws which allow it to be put into circulation there also in self-service. Citra being precisely a pilot program, Lime reserves the right to stop it in a few months or to develop it on a larger scale in the near future.
