It is not time for vacation departures. If it will be possible to take holidays this summer, without leaving France, it is still forbidden for the moment to exceed 100km around his home. Checks will take place on the road and in transport, especially on this Ascension weekend. The gendarmes dispatched on the roads check the derogatory displacement certificates of all the motorists.

The heavily sanctioned false certificates

Travel certificates must be presented at each police check. In the event of production of a forgery before the authorities, the offender is liable to heavy penalties. The certificate must present one of the imperative grounds authorized for journeys beyond 100km. Namely: family, health or work imperatives. All must be accompanied by proof (domicile, employment or medical certificates). The fine for lack of certification still rises at 135 euros and can be increased to 200 euros if the person repeats.

But in the case of a false written declaration, the culprit is liable to criminal sanctions since it is an offense. Less serious than the offense of forgery and use of forgery, it is nevertheless reprehensible, particularly in this context of health crisis. To punish the creation or use of false certificates (even if one is not the author), the law provides one year imprisonment and 15,000 euros fine. This applies to any document supposed to be used to prove a fact.
