If the video game industry is in good health and allows more and more development studios to exist, it is not uncommon for some to go out of business for lack of success. Unfortunately, this will soon be the case for the Barcelona company Lince Worksto whom we owe Aragami And Aragami 2.
The Spanish studio founded in 2014 will not have suffered from the lack of success of its two infiltration games, released in 2016 and 2021, but from a bad strategy established since then. Lince Works had in fact undertaken to create new licenses, but while the general economic context has become more complex, he has not been able to achieve his ambitions or move forward on a concrete production to find his way financially. It will therefore stop the fees and end its activity in April 2023helping its teams to find a new job as much as possible.
We have important news to share with you. It is with deep regret that we have to announce that Lince Works will indeed stop development of new projects indefinitely, starting in April.
We’ve had the chance to work on what we love for the past nine years, putting our heart and soul into creating immersive and entertaining games for you to enjoy, and we’re very proud of what we’ve achieved. .
But unfortunately, we have come to the end of our journey.
The last two years have been particularly difficult, as we have focused on the development of new licenses and a new course for the company. We were ambitious about what we wanted to achieve as a studio, but unfortunately, although we made good progress, the economic context was not favorable and we ran out of time.
It breaks our hearts to know that all the work we have done over the past year will ultimately not be completed.
We will always be grateful to our community and players around the world. Your loyalty and passion for our games has been our driving force, and we can’t thank you enough for the invaluable support you’ve shown us throughout these years.
We want to assure you that Aragami and Aragami 2 will remain available on all platforms and storefronts and that online co-op will be accessible.
We also want to express our gratitude to our incredible team, who have worked so hard to bring our games to life. It is with heavy hearts that we have to part ways, but we know that they will continue to bring their talent and passion to the industry in the future. We will do our best to help them find the best place to pursue their career.
Although we are closing our doors, the memories and experiences shared with the team and you, our fans, will remain forever.
