Linda Evangelista revealed that she was “permanently deformed” after treatment. A rare side effect is the reason for this.

Linda Evangelista (56) was one of the famous supermodels of the 1990s. Unlike her celebrity colleagues from back then, including Naomi Campbell (51) and Cindy Crawford (55), she has disappeared from the public eye in recent years. Now the 56-year-old has revealed the reason for it.

Evangelista spoke up via Instagram. In the post, she claims that a method of treating adipose tissue made her “permanently deformed,” “depressed,” and eventually a “hermit”. She writes, “For my followers who wondered why I didn’t work while my colleagues’ careers were flourishing.” The reason is that she was “brutally disfigured” by treatment. The process caused the opposite of what it promised, she wrote.

“Permanently deformed”

According to the model, the procedure increased the fat cells instead of reducing the fat. Even after two “painful, unsuccessful corrective operations”, it was “permanently deformed”. As the media described it, she was left behind “unrecognizable”.

Evangelista added that she developed something called paradoxical obesity hyperplasia. This is a rare side effect of a procedure that uses cold to break down fat cells. The tissue volume increases instead of decreases due to the paradoxical adipose hyperplasia at the treated area. The model claims that she was not properly informed about the possible side effect in advance.

“PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has also sent me into a cycle of deep depression, deep sadness and deepest self-contempt. In the process I became a hermit …”, writes the 56-year-old.

“I’m sick”

In her post, she also mentions a lawsuit and her intention to “move on to rid myself of my shame” by going public with the story: “I’m so sick of living this way. I would love to be exalted Head outside my door even though I don’t look like myself anymore. “

Evangelista has already received a lot of support on social media. From Gwyneth Paltrow (48) to Cindy Crawford to the designers Brandon Maxwell (37) and Jeremy Scott (46), celebrities gave her courage. The latter commented: “You are and will remain a supermodel. And now you are also a great role model for courage.”
