(CercleFinance.com) – Linde announced on Monday that its Brazilian subsidiary White Martins had concluded two contracts for the purchase of renewable electricity representing close to half of its current consumption.
In a statement, the industrial gas manufacturer said it will acquire more than two million megawatt hours (MWH) from the local photovoltaic power plants of Futura I Solar and Chui.
Linde, which has set itself the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, says it wants to double its supply of low-carbon energy by 2028.
The group emphasizes that this initiative will also allow White Martins customers to decarbonize their activities by supplying themselves with less energy-intensive industrial gases.
