That’s why “Lindenstrasse” was so successful
The television series “Lindenstrasse” was invented by Hans W. Geißendörfer (82) and is considered the first German soap opera. The last episode was broadcast on March 29, 2020. Before that, it ran on German television for 34 years from December 9, 1985.
Among other things, it was celebrated for depicting social and political developments as well as current events. Many actors such as Marie-Luise Marjan (83) as mother Beimer or Andrea Spatzek (64) as Gabi Zenker were there from the beginning. Other stars of the series were Joachim Hermann Luger (80), who died after more than 30 years as Hans Beimer, or Moritz Sachs (45) alias Klaus Beimer and Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum (45) as Iphigenie “Iffi” Zenker and Sybille Waury (53, Tanja Schildknecht) or Martin Armknecht (61, Robert Engel).
