Lipstick: Everyone should have these 3 colors

If you could only have three lipsticks – which would they be? We know this is not an easy decision. That is why we asked a makeup professional for advice.

According to statistics, a woman spends 1,780 dollars on her life for lipstick. And with the huge selection of colors that are now available, it is no longer so easy to choose the perfect shade. So we asked Stefanie Schollbach, make-up artist and trainer at It Cosmetics: Which three lipsticks does each of us need?

Classic statement

Red lipstick is simply a statement – whether in everyday life or in the evening. Of course, according to Stefanie Schollbach, no collection should be missing:

A classic red should definitely be there. It should have a full coverage and creamy texture, so that the texture creates a bit of volume.

According to Stefanie, it is important to pay particular attention to your own skin tone or, for example, which jewelry you prefer to wear yourself. If you like to wear gold jewelry, you could see that you take a shade of red that goes into the warmer, rusty area. If you like to wear silver jewelry, then you could look for a cherry red or blood red.

Stay natural

Red lipstick is an everyday companion for many women, but not for everyone. Therefore, something subtle should NOT be missing:

A natural lipstick should also be in the collection, it could also be a little more transparent and nourishing. We just feel fresh in everyday life, the eyes are more radiant and the look is simply completed.

As far as color is concerned, Stefanie Schollbach advises that we best orientate ourselves to our own skin tone. If it is rather rosy, then it might make sense to choose an old rose. If you have a golden skin tone, you could wear super soft apricot nude tones.

trendsetter

In addition to the classics, we should also deal with the trend colors. "I like to assume that I am – what's the trend right now and what do I like to wear right now?" Explains Stefanie. And by trends we mean not only beauty trends, but also fashion trends. For example, a bluish tint of berry goes well with the trend color Lilac, as does the trendy pastel colors.

Of course, a lipstick should always exactly match your own taste. In the end it won't bring you much to buy a color that you might find great in others, but that doesn't suit you at all.
