After the announcement of the 25 players summoned by Didier Deschamps to make up the French team for the World Cup in Qatar, players from the football world reacted live on the Europe 1 Sport program (every evening live from 20 hours to 11 p.m.). A list that satisfies Claude Puel.

The suspense ended Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. Didier Deschamps, the coach of the Blues, has unveiled a list of players made up of 25 players to form the France team for the World Cup-2022.

Without any real surprises, the coach of France has even made the bet to summon convalescent players like Raphaël Varane, Presnel Kimpembe or Jules Kounde.

“A homogeneous list”

Invited to respond Europe 1 Sport (8 p.m. to 11 p.m. every night of the week), Claude Puel considered that this list was “homogeneous”. “We were a little scared lately with all the injuries. I find this list coherent, balanced with a lot of assets,” added the former Saint-Etienne coach.

Didier Deschamps faced the withdrawals of several executives from the France team, especially in midfield as with Paul Pogba and N’golo Kanté. In the midfield “it will lack experience but the called up are very talented. They will have to be supervised”, assured Claude Puel with optimism all the same in Europe 1 Sport.

A defensive defense

Of the nine defenders called up, only Theo Hernandez is brought forward. But this “ultra defensive” defense is not a problem for Claude Puel: “It does not worry me. Going back to a four-man defense, in Didier’s mind there is no desire to have full-backs offensive,” he said.

Didier Deschamps has until next Monday to send his final list to FIFA.
