Little Nightmares III: bad news for the Supermassive Games game, the studio explains

After two popular games, the Swedish studio Tarsier Studios said goodbye to the license Little Nightmares in 2021. However, Bandai Namco who owns the rights had clearly not closed the door to this horrific universe and thus revealed last summer Little Nightmares III during theOpening Night Live of the gamescom 2023. This new adventure playable solo or in cooperation, and featuring new characters from Low And Alonewas then to appear sometime in 2024 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC. Of gameplay was subsequently broadcast in October. Since then, we learned in February that Supermassive Games laid off nearly a third of its employees… Whether or not it was linked to these internal upheavals, we now learn that the deadline for the launch of Little Nightmares III will ultimately not be met, as it will not see the light of day before 2025.

As is often the case, the reason given is a desire to offer a quality game to players and we are not going to complain about it. This does not mean, however, that the news surrounding Little Nightmares III will be non-existent, sincehe will be talked about again later in the summerprobably during the next gamescom.

Hello little ones,

Since the announcement of Little Nightmares III at gamescom last year, we’ve been thrilled to see our community buzzing with excitement and anticipation.

The teams at Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Europe have worked hard to deliver the best possible experience for the next installment in the franchise.

While we can’t wait for you to come back to Nowhere, we also want to make sure we’re giving the game the care and love it deserves. Quality is a top priority for us and we know you feel the same way.

For this reason, we have made the decision to postpone the release of the game to 2025.

We’ll be sharing more details about Little Nightmares III later this summer, so bear with us and look forward to new information.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you for your patience and continued support.

Sleep well, little ones.

—The Little Nightmares team
