It’s the big night ! The Summer Game Fest, an annual video game event presented by Geoff Keighley, took place last night at 11 p.m. sharp. We invite you to find all the announcements on this livestream here so as not to miss anything from the event.

The big news from Summer Game Fest

The Summer Game Fest meeting was given to players this Friday, June 7 at 11 p.m.. As expected, lots of announcements on games already announced, but also some new ones to delight us. The ball got started with the LEGO license which this time collaborates with Horizon and the Guerrilla studio! Fans are inevitably expecting something very good after their generous Star Wars collection released recently. Release planned for PC, PS5 and Switch. Another date to remember: you can play Quidditch on September 3 with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. Also present this evening, DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO introduced us to new characters including Goku ultra Instinct as well as a release date: October 11 ! Finally The First Descendant, a free game with solo and cooperative missions, will be released on July 2, 2024.

Among the biggest appearances, we were also able to count on a new trailer for Dune: Awakening, and the participation of Jason Blum to present a slew of games from Blumhouse Games, the producers of the M3GAN film. Blumhouse showed Crisol Theater of Idol, Sleep Awake, Fear of the Spotlight on the fly, with the involvement of the brilliant Barlow and Cronenberg. Still on the horror side, Sam Lake came to present the first expansion of Alan Wake II, Night Springs: it arrives with three episodes and three characters starting tomorrow. And nice surprise, the heroine of CONTROL comes to say hello.

During the evening, in terms of images, we were treated to a new trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II but also a trailer for Metaphor: ReFantazio and the first gameplay sequences of Slitterhead, developed by the creator of Silent Hill, Keiichiro Toyama. And other good news: Civilization is coming with a seventh part on PC and consoles next year. End point of the show: Phantom Blade 0, which will offer Dantesque fights, journeys and exploration.

The indies we remember

Nomada Studio, the creators of the incredible Gris, present this night NEVA, their next highly poetic game which adopts a more action-oriented approach. The release is scheduled for 2024 on PC and consoles. We also really liked the images of a pixel art action game with totally crazy animations for the Power Rangers license! The game seems to offer lots of different activities and will have the following name: Power Rangers Rita’s Rewind.

Deer & Boy, also worth watching, offered us a bit of poetry with a deer and a little boy walking in the middle of nature in what looks a lot like a sort of Inside-like about animals. And then The Game Bakers (the developers of Haven) took the stage to present their climbing game: CAIRN, published by Annapurna, which will remind a lot of Jusant. And finally we also remember Wanderstop, a game from the creators of Stanley Parable, which seems to offer an equally interesting narrative, with a tortured heroine who will probably drive us crazy. Scheduled for 2024 on PC and PS5.
