Live music 2020: These concerts should (still) take place

The planned concert in Düsseldorf with 13,000 spectators is causing discussions. These live events will also take place in 2020.

The announced Düsseldorf concert recently provoked criticism from German politicians: on September 4th, despite the rising number of corona infections, a live music event is to take place in the Merkur Spiel-Arena with around 13,000 people – under strict hygiene and safety requirements. A 150-minute show is planned with acts like Bryan Adams (60, "Summer Of 69"), The BossHoss and Sarah Connor (40). The "Give Live A Chance" would be the first major event after the Corona shutdown in mid-March and the ban imposed until August 31. But it would not be the only mass event to be staged in Germany in 2020.

Not only the doctors want to go on tour

"The best band in the world" is still in the running: Die Ärzte has just released their single "Morgens Pauken", which is supposed to be a harbinger of a new album. The completely sold out tour of Bela B (57), Farin Urlaub (56) and Rodrigo Gonzalez (52) is still planned for this year. According to the band's official website, "In The Ä Tonight" will start on November 7th in the TUI Arena in Hanover and lead through a total of twelve German cities by mid-December. That would also mean playing all the shows in covered locations.

It is similar with Max Giesinger (31) and his "Die Reise" tour, which is due to start in Fürth on October 9th. Lena Meyer-Landrut (29) concerts for her "More Love Tour" are also scheduled for November this year. The "No More Tours 2" series by Ozzy Osbourne (71), which has already been postponed several times, is also to be carried out. The Germany concerts of the "Prince of Darkness" should start on November 11th in Dortmund and end on December 3rd in Hamburg. Ozzy is supported by the British heavy metal band Judas Priest.

"Back To LIVE" in the Berlin Waldbühne

Parallel to the big show in Düsseldorf on September 4th, Schlager star Roland Kaiser (68) will sing in the Waldbühne in Berlin. The musician's performances are part of the "Back To Live – Open Airs 2020" event series in the iconic cult site. In addition to Kaiser, Sido (39, "Me and no mask"), Helge Schneider (64) and Wincent Weiss (27) will also perform there. The concerts are limited to 5,000 spectators.
