- The unions are calling this Saturday, February 11 for a fourth day of mobilization against the government’s pension reform project and the postponement of the legal retirement age to 64.
- For the first time in the fight against this reform project, the mobilization took place on a weekend day. The unions thus wish to allow the participation of workers who cannot go on strike.
- No call for a strike has therefore been launched: at the SNCF as at the RATP, traffic looks normal.
10:45 a.m. – Between 600,000 and 800,000 people expected throughout France
The police predict that 600,000 to 800,000 people will be on the streets this Saturday to demonstrate against the pension reform. Between 90,000 and 120,000 demonstrators are expected in Paris, where the parade will go from Republic to Nation. As a reminder, the mobilization day of January 31 mobilized 1.2 million demonstrators according to the police, 2.8 million according to the CGT. By February 7, the police had counted 757,000 people on the streets, while the CGT counted nearly two million.
10,000 police forces are mobilized in the country this Saturday, including 4,500 in Paris.
