Liverpool FC presents in the championship fight in the Premier League. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s side win at Newcastle United despite missing a number of great chances. The decisive goal of the game was scored by a former Bundesliga professional.
Liverpool FC puts Manchester City under pressure again in the English Premier League. Thanks to a 1-0 (1-0) win at Newcastle United, team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team took the lead, at least temporarily. Former Leipzig player Naby Keita (19th) scored the decisive goal.
Three days before the semi-final second leg in the Champions League against Villarreal, Klopp gave some regulars a break. Among others, Mohamed Salah and Thiago initially sat on the bench. Newcastle held up well throughout the game but were denied a goal. Liverpool failed to close the sack in both the first and second halves. Jürgen Klopp’s men missed several great opportunities. In the end, however, this was not punished, the 1-0 was enough for the important three points.
The Reds remain undefeated in their 15th league game in a row. Defending champion Manchester City with star coach Pep Guardiola has on Saturday evening (6.30 p.m./Sky and in the live ticker on ntv.de) in the away game at Leeds United the chance to overtake Liverpool again with a win.
