“Celebrity Big Brother” is entering a new round. The offshoot of the reality TV show “Big Brother” started its celebrity edition in 2013, when Jenny Elvers (51) emerged as the winner. This year, Sat.1 is celebrating the show’s tenth year – and has thought of something special for it.

Livestream and move

The station will launch a live TV channel with “Celebrity Big Brother – 24 hour live stream” on November 18th
on the streaming platform Joyn Plus+. The channel begins at 6 p.m. with the arrival of the celebrities. This means that fans can follow the events in the celebrity shared apartment two days before the opening broadcast on Sat.1, which will be shown live on Monday, November 20th at 8:15 p.m. “I’m really happy that the fans of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ are getting the long-awaited live stream on Joyn in the tenth anniversary year,” said “PBB” presenter Jochen Schropp (44) in a statement. “I love it: We will go to bed with the live stream and wake up in the morning with the live stream,” added colleague Marlene Lufen (52).

And what is the idea for the celebrities that viewers can see them in the house at any time? “I find this innovation to be welcome,” emphasized Peter Klein (56) in an interview with the news agency spot on news. “Then excuses like, ‘It’s because of the editing, because it wasn’t like that’ simply fall away because you can understand everything.” Dominik Stuckmann (31) explained spot on news: “It’s a different feeling that anyone can look in at any time. You no longer have any privacy. I hope that at some point I can hide the fact that I’m being watched.” But it is also an advantage, “because no one can pretend and everyone can get a real picture without the editing deciding how they are portrayed.”

For two weeks, Sat.1 will report on what’s going on in the house with a daily program, after which Melissa Khalaj (34) and Jochen Bendel (55) will also analyze the stars in “Celebrity Big Brother – The Late Night Show”. The area where “PBB” will take place is different this time. While the first season of “Celebrity Big Brother” was shot in Berlin in 2013, the production moved to Cologne-Ossendorf in 2014. There will be a new location in 2023, as Sat.1 announced in advance: “‘Big Brother’ will remain loyal to Cologne and is moving to Bocklemünd.”

A “back to the basics” awaits the celebrities and viewers there: in 2023, the accommodation will once again resemble a container, as it did in the early years. There will no longer be a luxury area, the candidates have very little space available and even have to sleep in one room. There is only fresh air in a barren inner courtyard. The next surprise awaits you there: This time there is a buzzer that has to be pressed every ten minutes during the night. To do this, the celebrities have to keep vigil in teams of two.

Wildcard winner moves in

For the first time, a wildcard was awarded for a place as a resident in the TV show for the new season. Interested content creators and reality personalities had to prove their community strength. On November 7th, the nine candidates initially fought in a challenge show for “advantages” for the community voting that would then begin in the Joyn app. Content Creator Marco Stretcher (21), who amuses his followers with parodies of teachers and mothers, among other things, ultimately received the most votes in the app voting and will enter “Celebrity Big Brother” as the wildcard winner.

The candidates

The 13 residents who will be under constant observation this year have already been determined: In addition to Marco Schlitzer, they are the pop singer Peter Klein and his ex Iris Klein (56), “Big Brother” veteran Jürgen Milski (59), reality TV -Star Yeliz Koc (29), player wife Dilara Kruse (31), reality star Patricia Blanco (52), ex-“Bachelor” Dominik Stuckmann, scandal streamer Ron Bielecki (25), actress Manuela Wisbeck (40), reality Star Matthias Mangiapane (40), influencer Paulina Ljubas (26) and magician Philo (41).
