LiveWire S2 Mulholland, when the electric motorcycle plays hipster

This was undoubtedly the original plan. Unveiled at the end of 2023, LiveWire invited us to the presentation of the S2 Del Mar. An electric motorcycle inspired by the world of flat-track, but above all designed for urban use and much more affordable than the LiveWire One. To attract more consumers, the manufacturer has released it in a version cruiser called Mulholland.

The LiveWire S2 Mulholland benefits from a more inclined front fork, a shorter saddle (as on the bobber) and a rear wheel reduced to 17 inches. The 19-inch wheel is, however, retained at the front. The rectangular headlight gives way to a more conventional round headlight, and the mirrors go under the handlebars. These changes could have an impact on the weight, which goes from 198 to 195 kg (-3 kg on the scale). For the rest, the electric motorcycle is obviously based on the same technical platform as the LiveWire S2 Del Mar.

We take the same and start again

The performances of the two versions are a priori the same. The electric motor of the LiveWire S2 Mulholland develops up to 84 horsepower (hp) of peak power (and 40 hp continuously) accompanied by a torque of 263 Nm. The 10.5 kWh battery, in principle allowing you to travel 145 km, will still require 9 hours for a complete recharge on a level 1 domestic socket (the transition from 20 to 80% would be done in 6 hours). Charging on a level 2 terminal will take 2 hours 30 minutes and going from 20 to 80% only 1 hour 30 minutes.

A slightly more retro design in order to convert more bikers?

Regarding the cycle part, the motorcycle is equipped with a Brembo M4.32 monobloc caliper at the front and Showa suspensions. Cornering ABS and traction control are standard. Finally, the dashboard is displayed through a connected 4-inch TFT screen (10.16 cm screen diagonal).

If the LiveWire S2 Mulholland will first be available on the American market, it should undoubtedly also be available in France. The motorcycle is offered in three colors: Liquid Black and Red, Liquid Black and Black, and Lunar White and Grey. The LiveWire S2 Del Mar is still on pre-order and is priced at €18,690.
